Braces protocol
Defining the types of orthodontic anomalies and the 6 keys to correct occlusion.
Defining the shape of the face, lips and jaws and their importance in orthodontics.
Concept of growth and development and etiology of orthodontic problems.
Bolton index, Spee curve and Wilson – basic starting points in orthodontic treatment decision-making.
Types of orthodontic appliances and types of braces. Necessary tools.
Investigations necessary for orthodontic treatment – preliminary questionnaire to the patient, panoramic radiography, teleradiography, CVST, orthodontic
model.Practical part: Photo documentation – protocol.
Cephalometric analysis, digital analysis, orthodontic model analysis, photo and radiographs.
Create a problem-solution table.
Drawing up a treatment plan and determining the duration.
Patient record – how it is formed and how it is managed.
Informed consent, hygiene guidelines
Biomechanics – biological changes, supports, actual and camouflage treatment.
Practical part: Analysis based on all studies of own patient.

Types of arcs and their sequence in the straight arc technique.
Rainbow bangs – meaning and performance.
Removable and non-removable orthodontic appliances in early orthodontic treatment – what not to miss in children.
Technique 2×4
Extractive and non-extractive class I patient.
Practical part: Indirect bonding on a printed model of one’s own patient.
Treatment of class II patients – types, different approaches according to age – support, extraction, serial extraction in children, definition of support, determination of need for orthognathic surgery.
Treatment of class III patients – types, determining the need for orthognathic surgery, support, extension, extraction.
Practical part: Analysis of own patients.

- Retention – types of retention devices. Relapse – determination of cause and treatment.

Dr. Magdalena Nikolova
Dr. Nikolova graduated in dentistry in 2004 at the MU Plovdiv. He started his practice immediately after that, and his serious interest in orthodontics started 9 years ago.
He is the owner of two dental clinics – EmDent (Shoumen) and My smile (Burgas, first prize for the best manager of a dental clinic).
She studied fixed technique in orthodontics from Dr. Yoav Mazor, Dr. Davide Mirabella, Dr. Enzo Pascuiti, Dr. Luca Lombardo. With Dr. Domingo Martin, he learned skills in the treatment of temporomandibular joint problems, and with Dr. Bjorn Ludwig, the application of miniscrews.
She participated in numerous international orthodontic congresses in Austria, Germany, Italy and Romania with leading speakers such as Tommaso Castroflorio, Jay Bowman, Prof. Miroslava Dinkova, Chris Chang, master class Francesco Garino, Arash Zarinpour, Sandra Tai, Kenji Ojima.
