Meet the lecturers
Assoc. Prof. Davide Farronato
Davide Farronato is an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Insubria. He graduated in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics with full marks and honors, graduated in Oral Surgery, and Ph.D. in Innovative Implant Prosthetic Techniques at the University of Milan.
He is President of the Degree Course in Dental Hygiene and Director of the Research Center ITEB (Innovative Technology and Engineered Biomaterials) and holder of various courses at the Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics and Dental Hygiene at the University of Varese. He is an active member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration, an active member of MINEC (MegaGen International Network of Education and Clinical Research), a founding member of SISCOO (Italian Society of Specialists in Oral Surgery).
His clinical activity is mainly oriented to the management of aesthetic cases on natural teeth and implants. His scientific activity is aimed at understanding the variables that influence the stability of peri-implant tissues in the long term and at the design of implant systems.
Prof. Dr. Claudio Stacchi
Born in Gorizia (Italy) in 1964. Graduated in Dentistry (DDS) and specialized in Oral Surgery (MSc) at the University of Trieste (Italy). Adjunct professor in Oral Implantology since 2007 at the School of Dentistry and at the Post-Graduate Program in Oral Surgery at the University of Trieste. Since 2022 he achieved the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as a Full Professor. He authored more than 80 articles in impacted international journals.
Active founding member and Past President (2017-2019) of the International Piezoelectric Surgery Academy (IPA), active member and President-Elect of the Italian Society of Oral Surgery (SIdCO), and active member of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration (IAO).
Professional practice is limited to Periodontology and Implantology at the Dental Clinic of the University of Trieste (Italy) and at his private office in Gorizia (Italy).
Assoc. prof. Christian Makary
Dr. Christian Makary was born in Lebanon in 1969. He graduated as a doctor of dental surgery in 1993 from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut in Lebanon. He holds a Certificate of Oral Surgery from Paris VII University, a University Diploma in Oral Implantology from Bordeaux II University, and a University Diploma in Oral pathology from Paris VI University in France.
He also holds a master’s in science and a PhD in oral biology from the Saint Joseph University of Beirut in Lebanon.
He was the former chairperson and is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Master’s program at the Oral surgery department of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the St Joseph University of Beirut – Lebanon.
He is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Dentofacial Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, American University of Beirut – Lebanon.
He is a diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantology ICOI an ICOI ambassador and the ICOI international Vice President for Lebanon.
He is an Active member of the International Piezosurgery Academy.
His professional practice is limited, since 1996, to Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology.
Dr. Makary has lectured on oral implantology in numerous local and international congresses mainly on the topics of sinus grafting, extraction site management, and ultrasonic implant site preparation. He has several publications in the field of oral surgery and oral implantology.
Dr. Nikolay Kanazirski
Dr. Nikolay Kanazirski is a long-time lecturer in the Department of Oral Surgery – at the Faculty of Dental Medicine at the Medical University, Plovdiv.
In 1986 obtained a master’s degree in dental medicine at the Medical University of Plovdiv with full honors. After a competition, in 1989 was selected as an assistant in the Department of Oral Surgery.
In 1993, acquired the specialty “Surgical Dentistry”.
In 2005, specialty in “General Dentistry”.
In 2021, specialty in “Dental Implantology”.
Dr. Kanazirski has more than 30 participations in national and international scientific congresses and conferences and more than 20 publications in refereed and impact factor journals.
Dr. Kanazirski is a member of BDU (Bulgarian Dental Union) and BSSDM (Bulgarian Scientific Society of Dental Medicine).
Assoc. Prof. Stefan Zlatev
Prof. Stefan Zlatev is a specialist prosthetist with more than 8 years of experience in private practice.
Performs diagnostic activities using a variety of prosthetic-diagnostic tools and equipment. Exceptionally competent in the treatment of patients requiring fixed, removable or complex prosthetic rehabilitation. It is focused on prosthetics on implants and digital dentistry.
In 2016, he defended his clinical specialty in Orthopedic Dentistry. In 2019, he defended his doctoral degree in Orthopedic Dentistry with a focus on Dental Aesthetics. He teaches in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry, where he is the main assistant since 2020.
He is the head of the CAD/CAM center for dental medicine at the Scientific Research Institute at the Medical University of Plovdiv.
Prof. Zlatev participates in numerous scientific projects, most of them related to dental implantology:
- Clinical evaluation of immediately loaded implants placed with a fully computer-guided technique.
- Preservation of the alveolus with PRF as the only material and with allograft – histological, volumetric, and clinical comparison.
- Immediate, semi-delayed and delayed placement of dental implants in the frontal area of the upper jaw – a randomized trial.
- Contemporary aspects in alveolar ridge augmentation.
He is the author of over 25 published scientific articles with more than 20 citations.
